Physio Solutions & Workout At Work Day 2014
We had a great afternoon at the British Library for Workout at Work Day on Friday last. Physios Jade and Helen were on-site in the Business and IP Centre from 2-5pm. We set up a stand with free leaflets and handouts, did mini Pilates exercise sessions on the hour and were on-hand to answer questions and give advice on incorporating exercise into the working day and on any other exercise or injury-based topics that came up.
Jade’s Pilates taster sessions were very well received – the 3pm session had about 20 keen participants! There was lots of interest in the information and leaflets available especially on desk-based exercises and easy general exercises that can be fitted into work and home life. We were delighted to be kept busy answering queries and individual issues.
Jeremy O’Hare Relationship Manager for the Innovating For Growth Programme in the Business and IP Centre said that while it was a new type of event for them it fitted very well into the Centre raising awareness of the importance of keeping fit and supple if you have a desk-based job.
It was also a nice change to get out of the clinic and use our physio knowledge in a different setting to our usual clinic-based role and to meet a different audience many of whom had no experience of physiotherapy but seemed very open to the concept of adding more movement to their working day.
Roll on Workout At Work Day 2015!

"The exercises you worked out for me were wonderful. They had an immediate effect so that by the end of the following week I actually had a pain-free day. Seeing you was really the turning point and I am extremely grateful."
