Massage can relieve tension, pain and stiffness and promote relaxation and recovery from injury and sporting activities. Massage can often be used very effectively in conjunction with a course of physiotherapy for relieving identified, general or local muscle and soft tissue tension. This supports patients with long term management of injury sites and can help to prevent injury reoccurrence. Recent scientific evidence has shown that massage therapy following exercise can reduce inflammation and promote cell healing. Ref: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22301554
